Scott's impressive displays for the Hammers during the previous season saw him named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year, 2011.He began his career with Charlton Athletic, making his debut in 1997 aged just 16, before joining Chelsea in January, 2004 and was crowned PFA Young Player of the Year at the end of the 2003/04 campaign.
Scott has represented England at every level from Under-16 through to senior, joined Newcastle United in June, 2005 and went on to captain the side during two seasons at St James' Park.
